On My knees

In On My Knees, a highly publicized investigation rips at the already strained seams in the fabric of a family whose dealing with a family crisis at the onset, a missing family member. Still, Reverend Garland Archer’s family is challenged even further when his son, lead character, Minister Indigo Mays leaves the church after exhausting attempts for change when a roving money-grubbing church consultant talks him into charging Congregationalist for a monthly fee for parking. Now, an aggressive and dogmatic George Charlie, Ranking Senator on the Senate Finance Committee initiates an investigation in pursuit of Archer and a diverse group of half a dozen other charismatic evangelists. Soon, the family finds their lives being played out in the media. This leads to a Congressional hearing and IRS scrutiny. However, someone on the committee is conflicted by a potentially scandalous secret of their own.

Although a safe saintly sister stands ready for the task of first lady, of On My Knees Chapel, Indigo is drawn to Amethyst Winston, a woman not so impressed with ministers and mega churches; a hostile feeling stemming from painful past demons. Knowing she’s distrustful of ministers her FrienEnemy puts in motion a misdeed against her, arranging for her to run into Indigo in a meeting that ignites a combustible passion neither can quail. While she doesn’t apologize for her steamy novels, Amethyst Winston is hiding something far more detrimental to Indigo Mays.  His calling is ministry work, but it’s her true calling that will bring him even closer to God as it draws him into a swell of danger. In the end, with his heart unveiled, he learns that this pairing is more unequally yoked than he could ever imagine.
